Published on Thursday, June 1, 2017 by

The BC Summer Reading Club is a free-of-charge literacy program designed to engage school aged children, ages 5-14, with libraries and reading, throughout the summer. The program is fun, educational, inclusive and community-oriented.

Starting June 16th, ch ildren are invited to join the Summer Reading Club by visiting any branch of BC Public Libraries. When signing up for the Summer Reading Program, your child will receive a reading calendar; reading record; bookmark and stickers.

After reading fifteen minutes a day for fifty days, readers will be rewarded with the highly-coveted Summer Reading Club Medal. Everyone is welcome at the medal ceremony and pancake breakfast in September.

The theme for the 2017 BC Summer Reading Club is Walk on the Wild Side. So get your family involved in showing some adventurous spirit and exploring the never-ending wonders that books offer to young and inquisitive minds. For more information check out www.kidssrc.libraries.coop •
